The Belluna Heures & Minutes Décentrées

From Mido
Courtesy of Mido

I have to say that as the months have progressed, Mido keeps impressing.  And this latest offering has set the bar pretty high!

An offset hour/minute scale at 10 o'clock that is paired with an offset second counter at 4 o'clock.  This in and of itself is cool.  But add that to what Mido describes as a "scrolling" date at 7 o'clock?!?

This watch is THE BUSINESS!

So yes this a bit more "dressed-up" than your typical Mido, but that is what makes what Mido is doing so interesting.  It would be easy to just "stick to the basics".  But what Mido is doing is evolving, while staying true to their past.  Remember the Multi-center Chronograph?  Not exactly a "sticking to the basics" watch, was it?  But I think that Mido is coming to understand and appreciate that you need to stick to your core vision and history, while occasionally extending yourself.  This watch bears all of Mido's "grammar" while stretching a bit - and still staying a Mido.

  1. Nice, an everyday's man's Lange, minus the big date. Will look for it in Colombia. I've always liked this design.
