It is during the vernissage that the Prix Solo artgenève-F.P.Journe was awarded to the best monographic show presented by an exhibiting gallery. This prize, sponsored by the high horology watchmaker F.P.Journe, was given to Roman Signer represented by the Zürich gallery Häusler Contemporary.

François-Paul Journe congratulated and personally presented the award to the Häuser gallery representatives. As part of the prize, an artwork by Roman Signer will be bought by F.P.Journe and donated to the Geneva cantonal contemporary art fund. The jury in charge of the attribution of the Prix Solo artgenève F.P.Journe comprises three major figures from the European art scene, Caroline Bourgeois (François Pinault collection), Beatrix Ruf (Kunsthalle Zürich) and Andrea Bellini (Centre d’art contemporain Geneva).

If the private view sets the tone of a show, then artgenève 2014 will break all records! Palexpo’s Hall°1 was full yesterday evening for the artgenève opening party. The numerous guests, amongst which a growing number of foreign art collectors, were seduced by the quality of the scenery and the artworks. The salon d’art artgenève, first organised in 2012, has been asserting itself as an acknowledged artistic platform for contemporary and modern art as well as design.

Twenty artists are on show at artgenève through a monographic exhibition. These are Bernard Aubertin (Galerie Jean Brolly), Yifat Bezalel (Gowen Contemporary), Sophie Bouvier Ausländer (Galerie Heinzer Reszler), Victoire Cathalan (Galerie Patrick Gutknecht), Frédéric Clot (Ditesheim & Maffei Fine Art), Delphine Coindet (Galerie Laurent Godin), Stéphane Dafflon (Air de Paris), Edy Ferguson (Cortex Athletico), Michel Huelin (Blancpain Art Contemporain), Karen Knorr (Galerie Les filles du calvaire), Gérard Malanga (Caroline Smulders), Sandrine Pelletier (Galerie Rosa Turesky), Edmond Quinche (Galerie Bernard Bouche), Denis Savary (Galerie Xippas), Albrecht Schnider (Marc Jancou Contemporary), Roman Signer (Häusler Contemporary), Elmar Trenkwalder (Galerie Bernard Jordan), Hervé Wahlen (Galerie Michel Giraud), Franz Erhard Walther (Skopia / P.-H. Jaccaud) and David Wolle (Galerie Bernard Ceysson). These presentations take place in a 20m2 space adjacent to the main stand of the gallery concerned.
