This is the story of two extremely wealthy, and obsessed men. Henry Graves Jr., and James Ward Packard went head to head to possess perhaps the world's greatest (or at least most complicated) watch. And who else would be the "enabler" of such an obsessive pursuit, but the good folks at Patek Philippe?
Ultimately this obsessive drive led to a titanic timepiece that ultimately fetched a record amount at auction.
If you haven't already, get your hands on Stay Perman's accounting of the grand-daddy of all watch idiot savants.
